PEARL SOCIETY
The Pearl Society launched in June 2019 with the aspiration that our new headquarters presented a unique opportunity for the Canopy Housing Foundation to create a legacy for our Realtors® and broaden their visibility and impact in the community. This legacy includes a commissioned piece of artwork in our lobby and the establishment of a giving society.
Inspired artwork
Artist Shaun Cassidy’s piece is fluid and multi-tiered. It honors the rich history of our Realtors®, the local real estate industry and our new address overlooking the Pearl Street Park.
About the artist
Shaun Cassidy’s work has been reviewed and featured in Art in America, New Art Examiner, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. Currently Cassidy is a professor of sculpture at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. He recently completed public art projects for CATS (Charlotte Area Transit System) and the Arts and Science Council in Charlotte.
About the Founding Members
This exclusive community consists of donors who gave at least $1,000 in a campaign to increase the Foundation’s endowment. An integral aspect of the sculpture is the keys that bear the name of each of our founding members.
